In 2019, there was no judgment interpretation of the core company law directives, however again, there were a few judgments adding to the everexpanding jurisprudence on free movement of companies. The latter includes a case where the European Court of Justice clearly indicates that certain company structures may be an abuse of EU law and a case that expands the »golden share« cases by setting new other types of requirements when privatising companies. In addition to this, there are cases where secondary EU law applies to different aspects relating to company law. These include a couple of cases that confirm the growing importance of the Service Directive.
